Menopause, AKA the Change of Life, is the typical progression of women as we age. It is triggered by the decrease in female hormones, signaling the end of childbearing age.
Some women, for various reasons, are looking forward to menopause. They ask, when can I expect menopause? Now for me, menopause does not bring high hopes, as my grandmother suffered terribly for 40 years with menopause. On the flip side, I have had several nurse friends that have been suffering from debilitating menstrual cycles and other hormonal issues and undergone multiple, unsuccessful procedures, that make them see menopause as the Holy Grail! For them, menopause, with all of its symptoms, is seen as a welcomed relief.
